Peter Pan Orpheum Theatre - Memphis Theatre reviews
The Best Way to Experience A Galaxy Far Far Away
I am forever a loyal fan of all the movies after attending the last night's show, although I wouldn't necessarily say that I am a fanatic about the George Lucas's double-trilogy of epic sci-fi drama, having been to most Star Wars exhibits, conventions, and fan-based get-togethers.
The narration by Anthony Daniels (C3PO) completely set the tone for everyone in attendance, with a live symphony scoring John William's amazing soundtrack, making it a truly amazing experience. This concert takes the story of the Skywalkers and places it in the foreground for people to understand and realize.
As well as the story of siblings Luke and Leia, with references to their parents, the stitching together of the legend of Anakin Skywalker's life as told by Obi-Wan Kenobi to Luke Skywalker, with dream sequences from the newer trilogy were great and a very warming experience.
The stage and lighting were phenomenal and set a great contrast against the dark interior of the Nokia Theatre, with the best part of all being the ILM sound effects being played throughout the concert in true 3D spatial enhancement for an awesome effect that I'll remember for a long, long time.
Truly a once in a lifetime experience, if I had the opportunity to see it again, I would without hesitation. It truly made the viewer feel like they were part of the Peter Pan universe.
